If one would capture a baby turtle on beach A and let it go into the water on beach B, when it matured and returned to lay

it's eggs, would it go to beach A or beach B??????? If it was

shown that it would go to beach B then it would be a good way

to help increase the population of sea turtles.

this is dumb

admin

Every year we go to Flagler Beach Campground in October, It seems to be a good time to find baby turtles who have lost their way! One of the other women has the phone # to call the turtle patrol & they usually come & take them. I dont see why we couldn't just help them back in the water?  I would be delighted to do that! Do they need to be counted or tagged? There doesn't seem to be a pot of support for them up there. I see NOTHING dumb about trying to save our natural resources & our wqonderful animals. I;ll bet you LITTER, too?

Wow I've always wanted to be a marine conservationist

and you guys seem to be doing a great job

good luck!!!

Rain

U r sooo mean sea turtles are the most beautiful creatures

I have ever seen

why would you ever want to harm such a thing

they are dieing cuz of us( mind my spelling)

u realy want to pull off it's head and twist it's flippers u must b

one sick sick sick and crule person

if ur jokein

THIS IS NOTHING TO JOKE ABOUT

they are on the verge of extinction

Rain

Oh and if they are on the verge of extinction that means

everything else in the sea the populations will be thrown

completely of balance reasulting in the sea dead

and everything else dead so we would all die because

living conditions would be unstable reason being in the end everything

in the world that keeps us living relates to the ocean

so realy you want everyone including you to die

don't joke about that kind of thing k!

Rain

And I don't want anything or anyone to die

not even you

and I expecialy do not want our planet and animals

to die so please

Never and I mean never make that kind of comment

again!

It may seem funny at first but when you get down to it

you want to pull you head off and twist you own arms

Volunteering - Sea Turtle Monitoring

Writer/Producer: Lynne Howard Frazer

Although they have survived for millions of years, sea turtle populations are plummeting -- and volunteers are working to help protect the precious eggs laid on southwest Florida's beaches -- and ensure the survival of these ancient mariners. Both the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation and Turtle Time, Inc. rely on volunteers to serve as "sea turtle sentinels" during the summer nesting season. Volunteers help locate and protect sea turtle nests, and serve as roving ambassadors for the mammoth mothers and their beguiling babies.
