Guardian ad Litem Child Advocates Needed to Stand Up for Abused Kids

Are you interested in flexible volunteering? Call 1-866-341-1425 to reach your local Guardian ad LItem office!

Or, see www.guardianadlitem.org

Southwest Florida's abused children have 30 days for the Guardian ad Litem Program to locate a trained child advocate. About 1/3 of children are still without an advocate's voice to help bring them a positive, permanent future.

Guardian ad Litem volunteers advocate for abused children locally, in court, the child welfare system and the community.

Volunteers must

  • be at least 19 years old  (volunteering qualifies for FGCU & Edison student community service hours)
  • have common sense and good judgment--no legal training is required
  • pass a criminal background check
  • be full-time Florida residents--many volunteers are frequent travelers!
  • complete free training
