September 15th is the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. Coastal Geologist Abby Salinger has written a new book, “Island in a Storm”, about a devastating hurricane that submerged a barrier island off the coast of Louisiana in the middle of the 19th century. Linda Fasulo has this review.
