WGCU covers impeachment trial on TV, radio, web and social media

WGCU continues coverage of the Senate proceedings regarding the Articles of Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump on television, radio, web and social media.

Coverage on WGCU HD and the World channel will be live Wednesday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan. 24 from 1 to 9 p.m., pre-empting some programming. On these days, the House Managers will present their case to the Senate.

On Saturday, Monday and Tuesday the White House will present its case. Coverage hours on Saturday are expected to begin at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Coverage continues on WGCU HD and World channels Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 27 and 28, from 1 to 9 p.m.

Each day at 9 p.m., the World channel will re-air the day’s proceedings.

As Southwest Florida’s source for NPR and PBS, WGCU considers it imperative to cover real news in real time via all of the ways viewers and listeners access information.

WGCU FM will carry NPR special coverage of the impeachment proceedings via WGCU HD-03. The regular broadcast schedule will be followed on WGCU HD-01 and 90.1 FM/91.7 FM.

Online, listeners can access information about all the ways to see and hear the proceedings here and at wgcu.org/specialcoverage, which include the wgcu app.

WGCUnews.org will live stream NPR’s special coverage.

The special coverage web page, wgcu.org/specialcoverage, will be your continuing source of information about events leading up to the presidential election on Nov. 3. On this page, WGCU will alert viewers and listeners about when and how to access information about:

  • Iowa Caucuses on Monday, Feb. 3
  • State of the Union address on Tuesday, Feb. 4
  • New Hampshire Primary on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and
  • Super Tuesday, March 3.
